Bordeaux will be the base for Ireland!

Ireland are set to base themselves in Bordeaux (West France, 150km north of Spanish border) for pool stages of the Rugby World Cup 2007.

For the first time ever in the tournament, each of the 20 teams will have a regional base camp and will stay and train there, along with playing at least one match in their base camp region.

After the pool stages those teams not qualifying for the knockout stages will return home.

For the knockout stages of the Tournament (quarter-finals, semi-finals, bronze final and final) hotels have been identified in Cardiff, Marseille and Paris.

The eight quarter-final teams will arrive in their respective match cities on Tuesday 2 October, 2007.

Argentina: Paris (first week around opening match) then Lyon (Rhone Alps),
Australia: Montpellier (Languedoc-Rousillon),
Canada: Bordeaux (Aquitaine),
England: Versailles (Ile de France),

France: Marcoussis (Ile de France),
Georgia: Near Villefranche-sur-Saône (Rhone-Alpes),
Ireland: Bordeaux (Aquitaine),
Italy: Marseille (Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur) and Saint Rémy de Provence (Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur) ,
Japan: Near Toulouse (Midi-Pyrenees),
New Zealand: Marseille (Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur) and Aix-en-Provence (Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur),
Namibia: Near Marseille (Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur),
Romania: To be confirmed (Aquitaine),
Samoa: Near Paris (Ile-de-France),
Scotland: St Etienne (Rhone-Alpes),
South Africa: Seine-Saint-Denis/Paris (Ile de France),
USA: (Near Lille for first match then) Lyon (Rhone-Alpes),
Wales: Pornichet/Saint-Nazaire (Pays de la Loire).
