France trounces Italy
In a display of rugby that the French coach probably would have wanted to see in the earlier parts of the RBS 6 Nations tournament, the French routed Italy, beating them 50-8.
Despite the fact that the introduction of Nick Mallet as Italian coach has done wonders for the team, this display was definitely not up to standard. Sadly, this has been one of the weakest Italian teams to take part in the 6 Nations for years and there is a lot of worry aboutĀ the apparent lack of depth that the country has.
They were just not able to make their presence felt at all in a match that saw the gigantic Sebastian Chabal score Franceās first try. This was followed by tries from Francois Trinh-Duc, Maxime Medard, Cedric Heymans, Lionel Nallet, Medard again and Julien Malzieu to give France an unassailable lead.
On the day it just seemed as if Italy was completely outclassed and this is definitely not the end that they were hoping for to their 6 Nations campaign.
