At least you lost….

Received and interesting SMS from an English friend just after the final whistle of the game:
At least you lost, now you can fire O’Sullivan. We wanted to lose so we can fire Ashton.
I’m not sure he’s right and that we should lose O’Sullivan, but I can see his point!

Clash of Champions?

The International Rugby Board will discuss plans to stage a one-off match between the Six Nations and Tri-Nations champions when the governing body meets with rugby union’s leading nations in Hong Kong on Sunday.

O’Sullivan’s 50…

It sounds like a band of merry men doesn’t it?
It is, but they’ve changed a bit in that time… This is the number of wins O’Sullivan has had since he took over the Ireland squad in 2002 (from Gatland who’s Welsh side he faces in the coming weeks!).

A really good read [...]

A Fitting End - Jason Robinson

A fitting end to Jason Robinson’s outstanding international career will happen this Saturday as he steps out in a Barbarians shirt to play world champions South Africa, his final game will be a testimonial at Stockport in June.
The 22-man squad will be captained by Bristol hooker Mark Regan and coached by Eddie O’Sullivan.

O’Sullivan to Coach the Lions?

Now there’s a question!
After the Irish World Cup performance, what would it take for Eddie still to be offered the job and not McGeechan (or possibly even Gatland for that matter?).
Is a Grand Slam required in the Six Nations 2008, and if so is it a possibility?
