It has been confirmed that Brian O’Driscoll will undergo surgery on his shoulder that could keep him out for up to six months. The long standing injury to his neck and shoulder mean he is most likely out of Ireland’s 2012 RBS 6 Nations as well as most of Leinster’s Heineken Cup title defence.

The Ireland team will use the fines accumulated during their Rugby World Cup campaign to make a $6000 donation to Christchurch Earthquake Appeal Fund as a mark of respect to those that lost their lives in the February 22nd earthquake.
